On-highway vehicles

In the electric and hybrid road vehicle sector, the battery is not merely a functional component, but a central element from the perspectives of regulation, safety, and manufacturer liability. Storage systems must comply with stringent type-approval requirements, such as UNECE R100, while also ensuring compatibility, electrical safety, and mechanical strength in the event of collisions or accidents. Added to this is the need for high-quality processes, component traceability, and comprehensive technical documentation—all of which are essential for successfully navigating the type-approval process and bringing the vehicle to market.

To date, we have successfully implemented both 80-volt storage systems, with a total energy capacity ranging from 35 to 50 kWh, and high-voltage 350-volt solutions, with a total energy capacity ranging from 70 to 140 kWh. The advantages of the 350-volt solution over 80-volt solutions lie in the system’s overall efficiency, as it operates at lower currents while delivering the same power output. It also allows for a more compact electric motor.
